of Janesville passed away at home surrounded by family on October 30, 2013. James was born November 9, 1933 to Melvin and Mattie Chaney in Decatur, IL. James served in the Army prior to marrying the love of his life, Sandra (Colbeck) Chaney on March 17, 1956. James has 3 children, Rosemary (Steve) Rittenhouse, Katherine Eldred, James (Regina) Chaney, 7 grandchildren, Jason Rittenhouse, Brandon (Leah) Rittenhouse, Shane (Melody) Rittenhouse, Benjamin Chaney, Kimberly Chaney, Rebecca (Martin) Neil, Tom Murray, 3 step-grandchildren,  Ashley (Tim) Burrus, Ryan Young, Jared Young; several great-grandchildren, Gage Rittenhouse, Samantha Rittenhouse, Ethan Rittenhouse, Alyssa Rittenhouse, Danica Rittenhouse, Jennah Daer, Paytin Chaney, Maleah, Mallory and Mya Neil, 2 step-great-grandchildren, MiKayla and Addisyn Burrus, 1 great-great grandson, Xaiden Rittenhouse. James was preceded into eternal life by his wife, Sandra, daughter, Katherine, his parents, brother, sister and step grandson, Tyler Clint.
Per family wishes there will be no visitation or funeral.
